 🌍 Geo-Biochemical Cycles  (भू-रासायनिक चक्र)

---

(What is Geo-Biochemical Cycle?)

(Major Geo-Biochemical Cycles):

(Carbon Cycle):

---

(Water Cycle):

---

(Nitrogen Cycle):

---

(Phosphorus Cycle):

---

(Importance):

🌍 Geo-Biochemical Cycles

🔹 What is Geo-Chemical Cycle? (What is Geo-Biochemical Cycle?)

Geo-biochemical cycles or biogeographic cycles are processes in which nutrients – such as carbon, nitrogen, water, phosphorus etc. – move in cycles between biotic (organisms) and abiotic (atmosphere, water, soil, rock) components.

➡️ These cycles play an important role in maintaining the stability and nutrient supply of the ecosystem.

🔁 Major Geo-Chemical Cycles:

1. 🌫️ Carbon Cycle:

Plants carry out photosynthesis by taking CO₂ from the atmosphere.

Animals eat plants, and release CO₂ in respiration.

Decomposition of dead organisms also releases CO₂.

Volcanoes and the burning of fossil fuels also release CO₂ into the atmosphere.

2. 🌧️ Water Cycle:

Solar energy causes water to evaporate.

Water vapor condenses to form clouds.

Then the water comes back to Earth as precipitation.

The water re-enters the cycle in the form of rivers, lakes, groundwater, etc.

3. 🌱 Nitrogen Cycle:

Nitrogen gas (N₂) is found in abundance in the atmosphere, but cannot be used directly.

Nitrogen Fixation: Bacteria convert it into useful compounds (such as ammonia).

Plants absorb it, then animals eat plants and get nitrogen.

Decomposition of dead organisms returns nitrogen to the soil.

In the process of denitrification, it returns to the atmosphere as N₂ gas.

4. 🪨 Phosphorus Cycle:

Phosphorus is mainly found in rocks.

It comes to soil and water through weathering.

Plants absorb it, then animals eat plants and get it.

It returns to the soil again from dead organisms and waste material.

📌 Importance:

These cycles continuously provide nutrients necessary for life.

Maintain ecological balance.

Affect agriculture, climate and ecology.

(Carbon Cycle)

(Steps of Carbon Cycle):

(Photosynthesis):

(Respiration):

(Decomposition):

(Burning of Fossil Fuels):

(Volcanic Activities):

(Ocean-Atmosphere Exchange):

(Importance of Carbon Cycle):
